Deacons Ministry

The Deacon is one of the two scriptural, ordained officers of the church. The deacon ministry is responsible for ministering to the needs of church members and offering support to the pastor, according to Acts 6:1-8 and I Timothy 3:1-8.

Duties

Assist the Pastor in implementing his vision and programs;
Serve as assistants to, and armor bearers for, the Pastor;
Assist in the worship, prayer, baptismal and communion services;
Visit the bereaved, the sick and the shut-in, providing spiritual and physical support;
Provide for the supply of the pulpit in the absence or illness of the Pastor;
Train persons applying for membership and assist them in assimilating into the church family;
